The New Inn at Shortstanding near Coleford and Christchurch is an old Forest of Dean pub which has a real ‘country’ feel to it, complete with an open fire for those cold winter months, real ales and a large beer garden and small children’s play area, perfect in the summer.
Whether you want one of our generously portioned evening meals in the restaurant or just a bar snack, you will not be disappointed. The restaurant welcomes hungry diners seven days a week. And on Sundays, a traditional Sunday pub lunch is served from 12.00 to 3.00pm, we highly recommend that you book your table, especially for our Sunday Roasts… we are busy for a reason!
Menu favourites include our ‘Wye Valley Beer Battered Fish and Chips’, our extremely popular ‘Homemade Steak and Ale Pie’ and ‘Homemade Beef Lasagne‘.
Coach Parties and Party bookings are more than welcome – birthday coming up, christening, anniversary, retirement or wedding? The New Inn has a private function room and we will be pleased to cater for your celebration, big or small.
We serve a selection of real ales, draught lagers and ciders, a range of Jack Rabbit Wines, plus bottled beers and soft drinks including tea and coffee.

Large car park which accommodates all patrons and party goers visiting us on our busy ‘Live Music’ gig events on Saturday evenings and plenty of parking space for coaches too.
